Moorestown, New Jersey — March 23, 2026 — The Code Access Foundation today announced a founding gift of $2.5 million from Marla and Gary Vecchio, marking the official launch of the organization and its mission to expand access to computer science education for students who lack the necessary resources.
The initial donation will support the foundation’s early programs, including the distribution of computer science materials, support for schools and educators, and the development of initiatives aimed at reducing financial and technological barriers to participation.
“Access to computer science education should not be limited by circumstance,” said Marla and Gary Vecchio. “Our son developed a strong interest in computer science at a young age, and he was fortunate to have access to the tools and support that helped him explore that path. We know that not every student has those same opportunities. This gift is simply a way for our family to help make those resources more accessible to others, so more students can discover and pursue their own interests.”
The Code Access Foundation was established to address disparities in access to technology and computer science education. Its programs will focus on providing students with essential tools such as devices, software, and learning resources, while also supporting schools working to expand their computer science offerings.
“This founding gift provides the foundation with the ability to begin meaningful work immediately,” said Lisa Schnotter, founder of Code Access Foundation. “It allows us to move from idea to action and start delivering resources directly to students and schools that need them.”
The foundation will begin initial program rollout in the coming months, with a focus on building partnerships with schools and organizations committed to expanding access to computer science education.
